Feature Tip

I am in the process of making tea cup candles and wanted to recycle some of the scented candles that had melted into unappealing shapes. I tried melting the wax in the microwave but had much better success inventing and using a double boiler system. I put the wax into a heat safe container and sat it in a pan of rapidly boiling water and put that on a cool burner. One of those 'glade escapes' type candles took about 30 minutes, votives took a lot less time. I check the melting progress periodically and reheat the water as needed until the wax is melted enough to pour. By the way, I found all my tea cup sets at thrift stores for .50 (Salvation Army stores are great) and then decorate the finished candle. When finished they look like you bought them at an expensive boutique and are one of a kind as you can personalize the cup color/candle scent/color/decoration for the recipient.
