Choosing June Roses

If Brad Pitt were to buy birthday flowers for Angelina Jolie, the bouquet might include roses. The same is true for friends , boyfriends or spouses who wish to buy June birthday bouquets for Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Sandra Bernhard, Paula Abdul, Nicole Kidman or even Carly Simon.
These celebrities – as well as many others – have birthdays during the month of June. The June birth flower is the rose.
Roses are available in a wide variety of colors. Each colored rose carries a certain symbolic meaning:
* Red roses, commonly given on Valentine's Day and used in wedding ceremonies, are regularly associated with love. As a result, they are commonly given as gifts from one partner in a relationship to another, either individually or in a bouquet of a dozen long-stemmed red roses;
* Pink roses often carry a sense of sweetness or innocence, of love or of gratitude, however the meaning often varies based on the depth of the pink color – which can be pale or much darker;
* Lavender roses stand out because of the wide variety of meanings that are associated with them: enchantment, mystery, romance and even an air or royal majesty. For those who are giving lavender roses for June birthdays, you can expect that the gift will be beautiful and unforgettable;
* White roses convey honor, purity, love, innocence and tribute. Younger recipients – perhaps like the Olsen twins – are often given white roses by their parents when they are too young for romantic love;
* Yellow roses are an ideal June birthday flower because their brightness is so similar to that of the early summer sun – and their meanings are often a reflection of that. Yellow roses convey warmth, friendship and joy.
Of course, June birthday roses do not need to be given as standalone flowers. Including one or more in a bouquet of wildflowers can create a touching bouquet that captures a wild spirit like that of Angelina Jolie. Including one or more June birthday roses in a bouquet – particularly pink or white roses while they are still as buds – can create a touching and beautiful gift for a young lady in your life.
However, just because roses are June's birthday flower does not mean that roses cannot be given for other occasions as well.
Fresh yellow roses can be paired with purple-blue iris to create a striking centerpiece for an outdoor picnic. White roses or pink roses can be brought home for your daughter or granddaughter to celebrate the end of the school year or be given as a gift when flowers are purchased for her mother.
Pink roses combined with hydrangeas can bring in a gorgeous touch of the outdoors and be a celebration of the early summer. Lavender roses combined with brightly colored gerbera daisies or even with calla lilies can create a burst of color and bring the outdoors in.
You don't need to be Brad Pitt to celebrate your partner's wild side – bring home summer roses and wildflowers for a special woman in your life. Your daughter doesn't need to have the fame of the Olsen twins in order for you to celebrate how special she is to you – youthful June roses combined with other brightly colored flowers can show her just how much she's contributed to your sense of success.
Roses – alone and with other flowers – stand out because of their beauty, their long history and, of course, their symbolism. You don't need to be wealthy or famous to receive them, nor do you need to have a celebrity's paycheck to give them. You don't even need a birthday celebration or other special occasion in order to give roses. All you need is the desire to show someone that you were thinking about them and that you care.
